Cafayte, located in the Salta Province of northwestern Argentina, is fast becoming the elite wine production region of Torrontes, and has achieved recognition for a variety of red wines as well. Vineyards in Cafayate are at some of the highest altitudes in the world, making a privileged microclimate for growing high-quality grapes.

Domingo Hermanos (The Domingo Brothers) is a cornerstone in the wine industry of Cafayate. The Domingo family resides in the heart of the town of Cafayate, along with their winemaking facility. The founders of the winery, Palo Domingo and his brother, were given the Yacochuya vineyard property as payment for an uncollected debt in 1968. They acquired and planted additional vineyards, developing a prosperous regional wine business, as well as a local bus company. In order to pass on the fruits of their efforts to the next generation, Palo took ownership of the winery and his brother became sole proprietor of the bus business. Palo’s sons, Osvaldo and Rafael, are the 'Domingo Hermanos' who have inherited the responsibility and legacy of the winery.

The family owns five different vineyard sites that are scattered about the region. Each represents a unique altitude, soil profle and irrigation system. The most extraordinary is Las Fleches. This vineyard is located at nearly 7200 feet above sea level, 45 minutes by SUV down a dry riverbed, in a gorge that resembles the surface of the moon. This property produces the fruit used in Rupestre and is the home to some beautiful petroglyphs engraved by ancient peoples on one of the massive rock formations.
